Yasin Malik to observe hunger strike on Feb 26
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Feb 19: Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik, and others would sit on a daylong token hunger strike on February 26, against arrests of youth, including students, and to express solidarity with the detainees languishing in various jails besides pressing for justice to 118 innocents killed in 2010 unrest.
“This token hunger strike will be held on Saturday here from 9 am to 6 pm. outside the JKLF central office, Maqbool Manzil, Maisuma, here. The Front chairman along with other party leaders, activists and family members of martyrs and detainees, and people from various walks of life will participate in the hunger strike,” a JKLF spokesman said.
Pertinently, Malik earlier this week had said that hold a 2-hour silent dharna would be held to protest against plight of detainees, press for justice to persons martyred in peaceful movement and against arrests of youth.
“But in view of the worsening situation, Front has decided to modify this programme and hold a daylong token hunger strike,” the spokesman said.
