JCC to protest in Jmu today

Jammu, Feb 20: With the annual Budget Session all set to begun here on February 28, the state government employees are once again on war path against what they term as the non-serious approach of the government towards their long pending demands.
To build pressure on the government, the employees under the banner of Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) have called for Secretariat Gharo on Monday.
Employees of various government and public sector undertakings have extended their support to the call. A similar protest demonstration is also being organized at the district headquarters across the state.
JCC leader Khurshid Alam told Greater Kashmir that the employees will be marching towards civil secretariat on Monday.
 “We understand the financial problem being faced by the government but at the same time the government has even failed to hold negotiations with the employees,” Moin Muntazir, a JCC leader said.
 Employees Joint Action Committee and secretariat employees unions were also preparing to hold protest against the government, which has not conceded some of the demands including enhancement of retirement age, payment of 6th pay commission arrears and regularization of daily wagers.
