Security alert in South Kashmir

Srinagar, Feb 20: An alert was Sunday sounded across South Kashmir to foil any militant attack using a car, snatched by two unidentified gunmen from a civilian in Shopian district, officials said.
The security forces have been asked to remain on a lookout for a Maruti car, which was snatched by gunmen from Mushtaq Ahmad Malik from his house at Pinjoora in Shopian, 55 kms from here, they said.
They said the agencies apprehend that militants might use the stolen vehicle to stage an attack on security forces.
A case has been registered in this regard, they added.
