Pvt clinics, hospitals raided

Srinagar, Feb 21: On the instructions of Chief Minister a team of officers, headed by Additional Commissioner, A M Wani inspected various clinics and hospitals here on Monday, an official spokesman said.
He said the team raided the clinics of prominent doctors working in SKIMS Soura.
They, according to the spokesman, were found doing private practice despite receiving non practicing allowance.
“The team also conducted surprise visit of a private hospital in the city and found two government doctors doing private practice during office hours,” the spokesman said.
The team also inspected Government Gousia Hospital Khanyar and found 51 employees, including 11 doctors and the para-medical staff, absent from duty, the spokesman said, adding that action under rules has been directed against the absentees and doctors.
