Comprehensive plan

This refers to the news “Srinagar is face of J&K: Omar.” The Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is right in his assertions. But sadly, the condition of Srinagar is not well. The city has been neglected for years together. See the situation in Old City. It has lost its historical glory. It could have been a place where hundreds of tourists would visit every month. But the condition of its lanes, by-lanes and roads is so pathetic that no one would like to visit there. If the present state government has neglected it, the former led by Peoples Democratic Party didn’t do any good to it. That is why the PDP lost all the seats in Srinagar in the last assembly election. What is required is a comprehensive plan to save Srinagar, especially the old city which is actually the face of Jammu and Kashmir.
