Flour mills fined

Srinagar, Feb 23: The Inspector of Legal Metrology, Circle-1 Srinagar has pulled up some flour mills for allegedly selling underweight bags of their product.
 An official spokesman said: “Under the supervision of Assistant Controller, Srinagar the sleuths raided the premises of flour Mills in the Srinagar and found that they are short filling the packages of bran and flour. The packages of 50 Kg were found about 500g lesser in weight.”
 The managers of these mills were booked under Weights and Measures laws.
 “During the inspection, one edible oil mill was also booked for keeping the edible packages underweight. The department imposed a fine of Rs 12000/=against the defaulters.”
