JCC strike

This refers to employees’ protests over the 6th Pay Commission arrears. I don’t know whether the demands of the employees are genuine or not, but they must reconsider the decision to go on strikes again and again. Last year there was hardly any activity in government offices due to hartals and curfews. People suffered a lot because of that. Now the employees are again in confrontation with the state government, which has expressed its inability to give full arrears to the employees. The government says it has no resources to meet the demand. I believe the employees must not resort to strikes and instead choose some other way to meet their demand. At the same time, government must generate funds to pay the arrears of employees. That can be done by imposing financial discipline at the minister, department, and bureaucratic levels.
