Greenway Park appeals
Residents say roads damaged, inundated; water seeping into building
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Feb 24: The residents of Greenway Park colony Hyderpora have appealed the Divisional Commissioner to look into the matter of waterlogging and bad roads in the suburb area.
The colony President, Muhammad Amin Pahloo in a statement said the drain being constructed by ERA there had failed to provide them any relief. “Instead, it’s doing the reverse,” Pahloo lamented.
He said work on the drain was started over three years ago but was still incomplete.
“The roads are damaged while frequent waterlogging has made our lives miserable… for now the water seeps into the foundation of our houses causing dampness. There’s every possibility if conditions don’t improve, our dwellings will collapse,” Pahloo feared.
“We the residents feel insecure and apprehend major looses to life and property,” he added.
He appealed the Divisional Commissioner to look into the matter.
Meanwhile, the residents of adjoining Gulberg Colony have appealed the official to get the ongoing work on drainage accelerated.
