CPI (M) demands probe into recruitments

GK NEWS NETWORK

Jammu, Feb 25: Alleging arbitrary appointments in different departments, CPI (M) today demanded a probe into the recruitments made by the state government to fill up vacancies over a period of time.
"We urge the government to take cognizance of the grievances of the aggrieved, as regards the selections by the recruitment agencies like JKPSC, SSRB etc, and order a probe where-ever needed to make sure that transparency and accountability at all levels is maintained", said CPI (M) state secretary and MLA M Y Tarigami.
He accused recruitment agencies like the JK Public Service Commission (JKPSC) and the JK Services Selection Board (SSB) of being "arbitrary" in appointing candidates.
"In some cases, where screening tests are conducted to short-list candidates for interviews, no weightage is given to merit obtained by the candidates in the screening tests, which is not justified", the MLA from Kulgam said.
He said if manipulations continue in recruitments job-seekers would lose faith in the recruitment agencies.
