Measures afoot for welfare of retired policemen: DGP
Jammu, Feb 25: The Director General of Police, Kuldeep Khoda today said the retired policemen were an important segment of police Parivar and their welfare was prime concern of Police Organization.
Addressing a State Level Meet of retired policemen here, Khoda said several initiatives had been taken for the welfare of retired policemen and many were in pipeline.
“It is the responsibility of the whole Organization to address their genuine problems after retirement,” he added.
He said the department was having a scheme for the welfare of retired police personnel under which various initiatives had been taken.
He said several more schemes had been introduced for the welfare of serving and retired police personnel.
Khoda said the Organization had a proposal to establish two Police Housing Colonies at Srinagar and Jammu. “Once these colonies are established retired personnel would also be accommodated in these colonies,” he said adding medical facilities were available in twin Police Hospitals at Srinagar and Jammu and the department was focusing to improve these facilities by enhancing indoor capacity up to 100 beds in these hospitals.
