Another car stolen, cops sleep
Srinagar, Feb 26: A day after two cars were stolen from the City, an Alto JK 01 K 2655 was Saturday taken away from the premises of State Institute of Education Bemina office on the outskirts.
The vehicle owner, Haji Abdul Rehman Bhat, Field Advisor with the SIE said in the morning as usual he had parked the car in the office premises.
“But in the afternoon when I came out to leave for home, the car was missing,” Bhat complained adding a case has been registered at Police Post Bemina.
Pertinently, the spot is at a stone’s throw distance from the Police Post.
The SIE staff has appealed the Inspector General of Police Shiv Morari Sahai to get the vehicle recovered at an earliest.
“Theft of a car is too big a loss for a government employee who obviously has a limited earnings… the police should help us out,” employees of various offices in the area told Greater Kashmir while seeking the IGP’s intervention.
