Bail application of accused rejected

Srinagar, Feb 26: A local court on Saturday rejected the bail application of the three officials of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution department, who are allegedly involved in the recently busted sugar scam.
After hearing arguments from both the sides, the first Additional Munsiff Srinagar, Shabir Ahmad Malik dismissed the bail application filed by the trio.
The two main witnesses in the case, Akbar Ali Chouhan and Binay Kumar Sharma, conductors of the trucks seized by police, also recorded their statements under section 164-A of CRPC.
Meanwhile, District Magistrate Srinagar has also issued a show cause notice u/s 6-B of essential commodities act of 1955 to the owner and drivers of the seized trucks for personal appearance in the Court.
The police is investigating high profile sugar scam involving officials of CAPD and Food Corporation of India.
