Jama’at rejects interlocutors’ invite

Srinagar: Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday rejected the interlocutors’ invitation for talks on state’s important issues. “Since Jama’at understands that the talks on the invitation of interlocutors could not be a result-oriented exercise to bear any fruit, it decides not to participate in these,” said the Jama’at spokesman in a statement today. 
 Jama’at, at a meeting of Majlis Shoura (advisory council) members and other office-bearers held here on February 24, with its Amir Sheikh Muhammad Hassan in chair, discussed at length the written invitation for talks on state’s important issues to Amir-e-Jama’at by the interlocutors’ team led by Dileep Padgaonkar.
