PM TO VISIT JAMMU ON MARCH 4
Jammu, Feb 27: The Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, would address the convocation of the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences at Technology (SKUAST) Jammu on March 4, official sources told Greater Kashmir on Sunday.
“The convocation will be held at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium at Jammu University. Keeping in view the security, the JU will remain closed on March 3 and March 4,” sources added.
Dr Singh is also likely to announce a special package for the promotion of state’s Basmati on the pattern of Saffron mission on the occasion.
Though the schedule of the Prime Minister has yet not been disclosed, sources however, said that he is likely to inaugurate the newly built residential flats for Kashmiri Pandits at Jagiti.
This will be the Prime Minister's first visit to the state after the summer unrest in the Kashmir Valley in 2010.
He had last visited Srinagar on June 7 last year when he addressed the convocation at SKUASK-K.
