JK best destination for MICE tourism: Dr Qasba

Srinagar, Feb 2: Director Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) Dr GN Qasba Wednesday said J&K is one of the best destinations for the Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) tourism.
 Dr Qasba was speaking at a panel discussion during a leadership conclave in Mumbai which was held under the banner of MaxiMICE, an annual initiative of EVENTFAQS, a leading multinational organization— for promoting convention and conference tourism.
 The focus of MaxiMICE was to put the spotlight on the most innovative ideas and solutions for MICE programs.
 The event was sponsored and presented by New Zealand Tourism and co-hosted by Journeys and Destinations and Team Rustic. “Known for its unmatched natural beauty and warm people, J&K is a suitable destination for MICE tourism. Our state has the state- of-the- art infrastructure for conferences and conventions in the form of SKICC which is ideally located on the bank of famous Dal Lake,” Dr Qasba said in his address.
 On the occasion, the panelists and the participants showed keen interest in organizing conventions at SKICC and hailed the State Government’s efforts to promote the tourism sector.
 Among others who participated in the panel discussion include, Jolly Mathews Senior Manager-Training, Novartis India, Akshay Mehrotra, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communication, Bajaj Allianz; Aparna Ranadive, VP and Head HR, Sony Entertainment Network.
