Replacing electric meters fund wastage: Senior Citizens
Srinagar: Srinagar Senior Citizens Forum has termed the replacing of digital power meters with new ones as sheer ‘wastage of money.’
“It is an extra financial burden on the honest and law abiding consumers alone. For the consumers who indulge in power pilferage by resorting to the hooking, the replacement of power meters makes no difference. Their meters, new or old, slow or fast, will always show the same reading. Meters showing low or accurate reading only make difference to the upright consumers who look upon hooking as sin and refrain from committing it,” said Forum spokesman in a statement.
Meanwhile, Forum, at a meeting with its president Muzammil Khan in chair, decided to expand the Forum at provincial level and rechristened it as “Kashmir Senior Citizens Forum”. Senior citizens of all the districts of Kashmir province can obtain Forum’s membership, he said.
