Mehvish’s family alleges police inaction

Srinagar, Feb 5: The family of teenager, Mehvish Pampori, who was crushed to death by a speeding cab outside her school at Bemina on December 4, has alleged that police was trying to hush up the case.
 They said over two months on, the police was yet to nab the accused.
 “The mishap took place under the police nose, yet the cops haven’t taken any action against the accused even though we gave them clues,” the family and other locals said.
 Mehvish of Bemina Housing Colony, a class 7th student of Police Public School received head injuries in the incident just outside the school premises and succumbed to injuries after a few days.
 The family has appealed the IGP, Shiv Murari Sahai to personally look into the matter and get the accused arrested at an earliest.
