PCR drug de-addiction camp today
Srinagar, Dec 31: As part of the series of drug de-addiction and awareness camps, Police Control Room is holding another camp in the community hall of Bachidarwaza-Nowhatta here on Saturday, January 1. According to police communiqué, a team of experts from Police drug de-addiction centre-PCR and Health Department would be available to treat those people suffering from various forms of drug addiction like codine phosphate, spasmoproxyvon, charas and other psychotropic substances and willing to shun the path. Such persons can avail facilities of free counseling and treatment, it added.
Road Safety week from today
Srinagar, Dec 31: The traffic police is organizing Road safety week from January 1 onwards. The Superintendent of Police Tarffic, Maqsood Zaman, said that inaugural function of the event would be held at 11:00 am at Banquet Hall on Saturday.
4 family members injured in cylinder blast

Ganderbal, Dec 31: At least 4 members of a family were injured when a gas cylinder exploded at Babusipora Nunar, 6 kms from here, on Friday.
The injured were identified as Ghulam Nabi Bhat, his sons Bilal Ahmad Bhat and Khurshid Ahmad Bhat and his wife Zena Begum. They were shifted to SKIMS for treatment.
Traffic diversions on Sgr-Baramulla road
Srinagar, Dec 31: With Muharram processions being taken out by the Shia community in various parts of North Kashmir on 25th Muharram, January 1, the government has announced diversion of traffic on certain routes on Srinagar-Baramulla highway for the day. An official communiqué said, “On the day from 11 AM to 9 PM traffic coming from Srinagar to Baramulla shall adopt the route Narbal via Magam, Kawoosa, Jeel Bridge. Traffic coming from Baramulla to Srinagar shall adopt Hartruth via Panzinalla Sumbal Bandipora route up to Shaltang.”
Man-eater leopard killed in Handwara

Sopore, Dec 31: The male Kashmiri leopard turned man-eater who was attacking human beings especially children and killing them at Dogripora in Handwara was killed by professional hunters roped in by the wildlife department from Pazalpora in Rafiabad. According to wildlife warden –North Kashmir Division-Sopore Abdul Rouf Zargar, the man-eater was active in the forest areas of Dogripora, Dardhaji, Satkoji, Lachampora, Dolipora of Handwara and was responsible for killing of Kulsuma Bano (12) of Dogripora and injured dozens.
DeM condemns arrest spree
Srinagar, Dec 31: Dukhtaran-e-Millat acting chairperson, Riffat Fatima on Friday condemned the arrest of youth in the Valley and alleged denial of basic facilities to its chairperson, Syeda Aasiya Andrabi and Sofi Fahmeeda. In a statement, Fatima expressed concern over the deteriorating health condition of Aasiya and Fahmeeda in Kot Bhalwal jail. “The jail authorities do not provide proper medical facilities, blankets and other items. Why are the New Delhi based news channels which made propaganda on the education of Aasiya’s children silent on the issue? It is ironical that nobody has courage to give vent to feeling of Aasiya children Muhammad Bin Qasim and Ahmed Bin Qasim who are feeling lonely in their relatives’ homes,” it stated.
