Politicians raising trivial issues enemies of people: Vakil

‘Tricolor dear to every Kashmiri as to any other Indian’

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, Jan 10: Senior Congress leader and Member of Legislative Council (MLC), Abdul Gani Vakil, on Monday said that politicians raising trivial issues and creating unnecessary controversies were enemies of people who voted them to power during the last Assembly elections.
Addressing a convention here, Vakil without naming anyone said that certain leaders have become habitual of raking up controversies and that too at a time when the state is passing through a crucial phase.
“No one has right to rake up issues which have already been settled by Congress high command especially UPA chairperson and Prime Minister,” Vakil said. “Anyone doing so is going against the spirit with which coalition had been formed.”
He regretted that these issues were being raked up in the presence of cabinet ministers, which is extremely unfortunate. “As honest and dedicated Congress soldiers we have to maintain coalition sanctity. Our efforts should be aimed at strengthening the coalition government and we should not waste our precious time in raking up irrational issues,” added Vakil.
“Failures breed controversies and hence, those who rake up controversies are actually failed individuals,” Vakil added.
Referring to the BJP’s plan to unfurl the tricolor at Lal Chowk on January 26, he said, “Lal Chowk programme is a drama being enacted by the party to befool common people across the nation,” he said.
“Tricolor is as dear to every Kashmiri as it would be to any other Indian,” Vakil added.
