Big blunder
This refers to the news “Flag hoisting row set to hit tourism.” It would be a big blunder if the Bhartiya Janata Party goes ahead with its plan of hoisting tri-colour at Lal Chowk. What does the party want to prove? In TV studios, the BJP leaders talk about peace in Jammu and Kashmir and beat the drum that it is India’s integral part. Why this animosity against Kashmir then? I am sure the BJP just wants to settle some political score and in the process make Kashmiris a scapegoat. Kashmiris have suffered a lot in the past two decades of turmoil. Not is time for them to live at peace. But this peace is not possible with such drastic acts, which can only vitiate atmosphere. The BJP leadership in New Delhi must respond to the problem and call off the plan in the larger interest of the people. Let there be no more violence in the state. Let peace be given a chance.
