Get serious

This refers to the proposed dialogue between India and Pakistan at Thimpu. India must shun its stubbornness and sincerely address the Kashmir issue. Recently the New Delhi appointed interlocutors on Kashmir have highlighted the need to get Pakistan on board with regard to resolution of the Kashmir issue. That is the first thing that India can do. Later Pakistan should also reciprocate in a better way. For instance, if India wants to punish the perpetrators of Mumbai attacks, let it. The two countries actually lack clarity, probably because they don’t want to address the outstanding issues. Every time they talk about addressing all the issues peacefully and through dialogue, but hardly does that dialogue take place the way it should. Sometimes a small attack plays havoc with the relations between the two countries. Prolonging resolution of Kashmir issue is not going to solve the problem. Nobody is actually bothered about Kashmiris who have just become the sources of experimentation for India and Pakistan. India appoints interlocutors while Pakistan verbally assures diplomatic and moral support to Kashmir. But on the ground, both are failing to take serious initiatives to end bloodshed in Kashmir.
