Guv, CM greet people on Lohri, Makar Sankranti
Jammu, Jan 12: The Governor, N N Vohra and Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah have felicitated the people on Lohri and Makar Sankranti, and prayed that these occasions would be the harbingers of peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
In his message, Vohra observed that festivals were an important component of our composite cultural heritage which strengthen the bonds of communal harmony and brotherhood and promote amity and secular ethos.
Chief Minister said the festivity of Lohri gives us an opportunity to exchange good wishes and pray for the betterment of the society.
“We have long tradition and temperament of celebrating our holidays and festivals in amity. Let us work to strengthen this trait at all levels,” he added.
