Slathia for boosting industrial sector in JK

Jammu, Jan 12: Minister for Industries and commerce, S. S Slathia today said Industrial sector has received another shot in the arm as the state Government has secured ten year extension of central excise package/refund on Value Addition for the state from the Union Finance Ministry.
 After inaugurating additional unit of Saraswati Plasto-Tech Ltd. in Bari-Brahmana here today, the Minister said the government will leave no stone  unturned to expand base of industries, which he said has thrown up ample employment opportunities.
 Responding to the demands of industrialists, which include revival of sick units, the Minister assured that their pending issues will be taken up with the Chief Minister,  Omar Abdullah and simultaneously Ministers for Forest and Labour will be involved in the process so that the long pending issues are resolved.
 The Minister enjoined upon the industrialists to ensure the absorption of at least 50% local unskilled labour in their respective units. He said the cooperation by the industrial units would supplement the Government‘s   efforts to tackle the unemployment problem in the state. He further said that the extension of the benefits under central Excise Package has become possible with keen interest evinced by the Chief Minister,   Omar Abdullah by frequently taking up the matter with Prime Minister and union Finance minister.
 Slathia further said that the provident fund issue of labour and employment will be taken up with the Finance department shortly. He directed the Executive Engineer PDD Samba to release the Subsidy amount on Genset on regular basis.
 Deputy Commissioner Samba,   Mubarak Singh, Joint Dir. Information,   Soujanya Sharma,   SSP Samaba   Nissar Ahmed, Present Bari-Brahmana Association, President Federation Commerce and all senior officers accompanied the Minister during his tour.
