Asks candidates to pen, not pencil
SSB WAKES UP
GK NEWS NETWORK
Jammu, Jan 13: A day after this newspaper reported the confusion over the use of pencils or pens while filling the Services Selection Board (SSB) recruitment forms, the SSB authorities Thursday clarified that the candidates must use only ball point pen and not pencil.
“As per the past practice, the candidates were required to darken the relevant circles of the OMR application form by pencil and accordingly it was laid down in the instruction sheet available with the OMR application form. But the Board confronted various problems during the scanning and processing of these application forms and it was decided to discard the practice of darkening the circles by pencil,” the clarification read. “
Because some old OMR application forms along with instruction sheets were available with the Board wherein the previous instruction sheets were enclosed, it has created confusion. For information of general public the relevant circles of the OMR application form are required to be darkened by Ball point pen instead of pencil or ink pen and the Board has devised new OMR application form wherein the said condition is readily available”.
The SSB also clarified that the Board is not empowered to change the Recruitment rules of the indenting departments whereby basic qualification of a particular post is fixed.
