Transporters’ strike

This refers to the news “Transporters threaten indefinite strike.” Before the transporters take such a harsh step, the state government must address their genuine demands. The transporters have threatened to raise bus fare without consulting the government. That would be a disaster. After the summer unrest, the drivers are already charging above the normal rate. People also supported them keeping in view the huge losses they incurred during the unrest. But now it would be unfair if people are taxed this way. Why is the state government watching their threats like mute spectators? Time and again people are put to immense inconvenience due to such strikes. Instead of allowing the crisis to worsen, it is better if the chief minister takes personal interest in the issue and addresses the problem. That would be a big respite for the poor people who don’t own their own luxurious cars.
