1 held with fake currency

Srinagar: Police has arrested a man, recovering fake currency of Rs 42000 denomination from his possession near Babateng Pattan in Baramulla district. According to the police, the arrested has been identified as Ghulam Muhammad of Dharpora Kupwara. “During searches, 21 notes of 1000 denominations and 42 notes of 500 denominations were recovered from his possession,” police said adding a case had been registered in the concerned police station.

3 held with poppy straw
Srinagar: Police has arrested three persons, seizing 67 kilograms of poppy straw from their possession in Islamabad (Anantnag). According to the police, the trio has been identified as Abdul Hamid Bhat son of Abdul Ahad Bhat of Arwani, Farooq Ahmad Thoker son of Abdul Rehman of Hassan Pora Tawela and Jan Muhammad Makroo son of Abdul Majeed Makroo of Arwani.
