Geelani, Shah under house arrest

Srinagar, Jan 14: Senior separatist leaders Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Shabir Ahmed Shah continued to remain under house arrest on Friday.
 Talking to Greater Kashmir Hurriyat (G) spokesman Ayaz Akbar said that Geelani completed 129 days under house arrest today.   
  “He has not been allowed to offer congregational Friday prayers for the past 18-Fridays,” he added.
  Meanwhile, president of Democratic Freedom Party Shabir Ahmad Shah was placed under house arrest for the 10th consecutive Friday after his release from jail. Shah was scheduled to offer Friday prayers at Hazratbal shrine here.
 “Police cordoned off Shah’s residence asking him not to venture out of house,” a DFP spokesman said.
