Negotiations only way out: Mirwaiz

Srinagar, Jan 14: The Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Friday said the negotiations were the only way to resolve any issue.
Mirwaiz while addressing a Friday congregation at historic Jamia Masjid here said the amalgam would welcome any step that would help ease tension between India and Pakistan and pave way for resolution of the Kashmir issue.
He described the forthcoming meeting between foreign secretaries of India and Pakistan as a welcome development. “The situation and history demand that serious, bold and result oriented steps should be taken vis-à-vis resolution of Kashmir issue so that Kashmiris’ involvement is ensured in the next phase of talks.
Mirwaiz said the international community was worried about any nuclear confrontation between two neighbouring countries and was stressing upon them to resolve Kashmir issue through peaceful talks.
