Bishnah, Jan 15: Minister for Social Welfare Sakina Itoo has said about 40000 persons have been provided employment in the government by Omar Abdullah-led Coalition and recruiting agencies have been asked to gear-up the pending selection for filling up the vacancies.
“The government has also streamlined the pension payment to the beneficiaries of the social welfare department and the possibilities are being explored to set up a separate counters in specific J&K Bank branches for the convenience of beneficiaries,” she said at a women’s rally here. Among others, who addressed the rally include Minister for Industries and Commerce, S S Slathia, Political Advisor to the Chief Minister, Devindar Singh Rana, MLA, Bimla Luthara and Provincial President National Conference R L Gupta.
Sakina said Rs 10 crore have been earmarked for providing loan to women for setting up their own income generating units to ensure their economic independence.
Slathia said the Panchayati elections will be held in near future and some Panchayat halqas have been kept reserved for women representation.
Slathia said that the aim of hoisting flag in Lal Chowk by BJP was nothing but to unnerve the present coalition formation.
He warned them and said that BJP would not be allowed to succeed in their designs.
Political Advisor to the Chief Minister Devender Singh Rana said that the divisive politics of BJP was detrimental to the interest of the country and said that secular forces like National Conference and Congress will not allow the BJP to carry forward its nefarious designs to disturb peace and harmony in Jammu & Kashmir.
“It is unfortunate that while the NDA government headed by former Prime Minister A B Vajpayee was advocating dialogue with Pakistan and people of Jammu & Kashmir to find a solution to the vexed Kashmir issue, the same BJP today is hell bent upon thwarting the major initiatives being taken by the UPA government to find a lasting permanent solution to the vexed issue.”
