Release detainees: Hurriyat (M) to New Delhi

Srinagar, Jan 15: Demanding unconditional release of   pro-freedom leaders and youth detained in “jails and interrogation centers” in and outside the state, Hurriyat Conference(M) Saturday asked New Delhi to act on the amalgam’s demands to create a conducive atmosphere to resolve the Kashmir issue.”
In a statement, a Hurriyat (M) spokesman while expressing concern over the “deteriorating” health of the detainees also urged international rights groups to take notice of the “ill-treatment” meted out to prisoners  and use their influence to secure their release.
“Due to the inhumane behavior of jail authorities the condition of detainees is worsening with each day. New Delhi should accept our demands, including the unconditional release of political prisoners immediately, so that conducive atmosphere is created to resolve the vexed Kashmir issue,” the spokesman added.
