300 poultry units set up

Islamabad (Anantnag), Jan 16: To give boost to the poultry sector, the Department of Animal Husbandry has setup 47 Backyard Poultry Units and 269 Broiler units in Islamabad (Anantnag) district so far during the current financial year. The department has also conducted sale of 24379 day old broiler and egg type chicks, 906 breeding birds, 1470 Table eggs and 6000 kgs poultry meet during the last nine months. As many as 2714 fodder demonstration plots were also established, an official statement said.
During the period 1004560 doses of vaccination were also administered to poultry birds against Ranikhait, Fowlduck, Cholera and other diseases.
