JKPCC spends Rs 11 cr on health project
PAC inspects work
Islamabad (Anantnag), Jan 18: Public Accounts Committee for Health department headed by MLA, A. R. Veeri alongwith MLA, Dr Muhammad Shafi Wani today inspected under construction 300 bed district hospital, Islamabad (Anantnag) and took stock of pace of the construction work.
The Chairman PAC was accompanied by Director Health Services, Muhammad Amin Wani, Deputy Director Health Services, Dr. Abdul Rashid, CMO, Islamabad (Anantnag) and Under Secretary, Assembly, Reyaz Ahmad Sheikh, an official statement said.
During the inspection, the JKPCC Engineer informed the committee that Rs 11.20 crore out of Rs 59.50 crore have been spent on the project so far and the work is smoothly going on. He assured the chairman that the first block with facility of OPD, IPD of the four storey building comprising three blocks would be handed over to health department in the month of July 2011.
He said due to technicalities, the project could not be completed yet. He said that second block of Hospital would also be completed soon and said this hospital would be one of the best among other district hospitals equipped with latest medical equipments and other related facilities including four lifts besides X-Ray machines, seven general theatres, 20 ICU beds and heating systems.
Veeri expressed satisfaction over the construction work and directed executing agencies to speed up the work and complete the complex on priority basis so that the people of the district and others get benefited by this hospital.
