KU teacher awarded

Srinagar, Jan 18: Dr Bashir Ahmad Ganai, Associate Professor Department of Biochemistry, Kashmir University, has been given Eminent Scientist Award for the year 2010 by National Environmental Science Academy (NESA), New Delhi.
 The KU PRO said Prof Ganai was given the award for his outstanding contribution in the field of the Environmental biochemistry.
 “Prof Ganai received a Gold Medal, memento and a certificate from Padmabushan Prof Z, Qasim president , NESA and Prof G N Qazi Vice-Chancellor, Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi  during  annual National Conference  on Global warming and human health held at  Jamia Hamdard New Delhi,” the PRO said in a statement.
 The KU VC Prof Riyaz Punjabi while complimenting the scientist for the  award said: “We have many young promising scientists in the campus and we do expect that they will also receive laurels from the national and international agencies.”
