CRC to organize World Braille Day

Srinagar, Jan 1: The Composite Regional Centre, Srinagar is organizing World Braille Day at its office at Bemina Byepass, Srinagar on January 4.
An official handout said Minister for Social Welfare, ARI Training and Public Grievances, Sakina Itoo will inaugurate the First Primary School for Braille System of Education in Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining areas for the blind.
“Also a follow up distribution camp for registered beneficiaries (physically challenged persons) who are registered with CRC Srinagar upto October 31, 2010 will provide assistive devices like Tricycles, Wheel Chairs, Crutches, Artificial Limbs, Walking Sticks, Hearing Aids, Calipers etc free of cost under the ADIP scheme of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India,” it added.
