Backward villages
No minister or any head of the administration has any idea about the geography of Kashmir as none has travelled through the length and breadth of valley. It is not clear as to what yardstick has been adopted to accord backward status to under developed villages. The villages which deserve the backward status have been ignored by the administration which really need special attention. Let me mention some glaring example about the village Vawoora in Kupwara district which is in close proximity of Kupawara district which is ahead in so many respects to other backward villages of the District. Omar Abdullah should visit Dardpora, Muqam, Budnumbal area west side together with the far-flung villages of tangdhar namely Hajitara village, Tad village, Cona Gabra and gund sydain. On south side he must visit Kalaroosh villages including Thain village and whole Macchil area especially Duphal, Chuntiwara, Maliki Bella and Ring Balla. These areas are really on the mercy of God and Border Security Forces who exploit their poverty according to their needs. The whole exercise needs a review.
