Man killed, 2 hurt in mishaps
Srinagar, Jan 20: A man was killed and two others injured in separate road accidents in the Valley.
A bus (JK05-9792) hit and critically injured Muhammad Siddiq Chowdhary son-in-law of Atta Muhammad Khokhar of Rampora at Rampora Boniyar in Baramulla district, police said adding the wounded later succumbed in the hospital.
The body of the deceased was handed over to the family for last rites, police said adding a case had been registered.
A Sumo (JK13-7712) collided with a car (JK01H-8087) near Gangoo Pulwama injuring Reehana of Bemina here and Abdul Hamid Mir son of Ghulam Muhammad of Litter Rajpora.
GREF EMPLOYEE BURIED UNDER LANDSLIDE
An employee of General Roads Engineering Force was buried in a landslide at Zanskar area of Kargil.
According to police, the GREF personnel were busy in construction of a road when a landslide hit them last evening at Nimoo-Chadar Oadum.
A JCB vehicle and an air compressor machine got buried under a huge rock, also trapping an employee, while the rest of over a dozen others escaped unhurt, the police said.
Rescue parties immediately rushed to the spot and efforts were on to retrieve the trapped person, who is feared dead, police said.
