Srinagar, Jan 21: Aircell has become the first private telecom service provider in J&K to launch the 3G experience zone in Srinagar offering the consumers to get first hand feel of third generation mobile telephony.
“There will be multiple Aircel 3G experience zones spread across J&K which will be unveiled shortly for the consumers to access and get to know what 3G is and what it can do for them,” a spokesman of the company said.
The 3G experience zone at Bagat Barzulla was inaugurated by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon in presence of Aircell Hub Head Gurmeet Makkar, Aamir Ali, OSD to Div Com, Aircel circle operations head  Harvinder Pal Singh, Ajay Khajuria, circle marketing head and Akhtar Jeelani Zonal business head Kashmir and staff and channel partners of Aircel.
“The consumers can walk in and they will be taken through the services available such as the Video Calling, Aircel IVVR (Interactive Video Voice Response) , Mobile TV and Aircel 3G PocketInternet portal,” he said.
There would be host of exciting products in 3G which would be launched in due course of time, he said.
Aircel always strives to make endeavor to offer consumers best in class on the Mobile anytime anywhere, he said, adding that the launch of 3G experience zone in Kashmir is a step towards the same as it would equip the consumers and provide them first hands on experience on 3G services and open to them a world of possibilities.
These services address all segments be it the youth, a housewife, businessmen, a professional or a senior citizen. “There is something for all which 3G addresses, with a 3G phone and access to the 3G network at the Aircel experience zone; access the vibrant, colorful Aircel 3G PocketInternet portal with easy access to news, sports etc.”
Interestingly, the launch of 3G experience zone coincided with the launch of Mobile Number Portability which gives the customer a choice to retain his mobile number while switching to the service provider of his/her choice.
The spokesman said the Aircel has waived off MNP charges and has launched an exciting MNP product which gives customer free data services for a month and discounted call tariffs for three months.
Meanwhile, the Divisional Commissioner unveiled Ideos handset, exclusive 3G Google handset on the occasion. This third generation handset is having unique features at most affordable price. Besides 3G features, this android 2.2 handset can act as a wi-fi modem through which one can connect five devices like phones, laptops etc.
This phone is exclusively bundled with Aircel and have lot of freebies attached to it.
