Baramulla, Jan 21: Two persons including a cop were injured when several youth took to streets after the Friday prayers.The protesting youth engaged police for several hours by pelting stones at them on the Cement Bridge of the town. Police lobbed several tear smoke shells to quell the protesters and it was in the evening that clashes were brought to control.
CB files charge sheet against ‘cheater’
Srinagar: The Crime Branch has filed a charge sheet against an employee of a private business firm in Madhya Pradesh for allegedly cheating a local trader. According to CB communiqué, the accused Manesh Kumar working as regional Sales Manager M/S CEASA India Pvt. Ltd ‘cheated’ Haji Muhammad Shaban Ganaie Proprietor of M/S Shahnaaz Enterprises to the tune of Rs 20000. “After acquiring a payment for supplies of kitchen chimneys and water purifiers, Manoj didn’t deposited the amount to his company,” the communiqué said.
Man held with fake currency
Srinagar: Police has arrested a man while he was depositing Rs 13000 fake currency denominations along with cash of Rs 33000 in J&K Bank Branch Sogam Kupwara. According to the police, the arrested has been identified as Fayaz Ahmad Mochi son of Ghulam Nabi of Sogam, Kupwara.
ReT forum appeals CM
Srinagar: The J&K Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers Forum has urged the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah to fulfill their genuine demands. In a statement, Forum said a meeting was held with Secretary Shabir Tantray in chair. The participants urged the CM to accept their demands including the inclusion five years of rendered service for promotion benefits and enhancement of wages.
Handwara man missing
Srinagar, Jan 21: Family members of a civilian have claimed that Bashir Ahmad Magray has gone missing since Thursday.According to a local news agency KNS, the family members of Magray, son of Ghulam Rasool of Harripora Handwara, and a match-maker by profession alleged that personnel of Special Operation Group have arrested him.Superintendent of police Handwara Aslam Choudhary said a missing report has been registered in the concerned police station.
AI operates additional flight for Leh
Jammu, Jan 21: According to Station Manager, Jammu, due to cancellation of Jammu-Leh flight IC-450 dated 21 January-2011. Air India will operate additional flight to Leh on dated 22 January, 2011 (Saturday).
