Lt Gen Parnaik in Srinagar

Srinagar, Jan 21: General Officer Commanding in Chief, Northern Command, Lieutenant General KT Parnaik Friday arrived here on a three day visit to Kashmir.
It is the first visit of the Commanding Officer after assuming the charge of the Northern Command.
The General was received by Lieutenant General SA Hasnain, GOC Chinar Corps at the BB Cantonment here.
“The Army Commander interacted with senior officers and was briefed on the operational preparedness of the Chinar Corps and on the prevailing external environment,” said an Army spokesman in a statement here.
 Parnaik accompanied by GOC Chinar Corps later visited HQ CIF (K), where he besides interacting with officers was briefed on numerous issues by GOC HQ CIF (K), the spokesman said.
