Supply position of ration, essential commodities reviewed

Srinagar, Jan 21: Minister for Social welfare Miss Sakina Itoo on the instructions of Chief Minister convened a high level officers meeting here today. The meeting reviewed the basic amenities provided by the divisional administration to the people during winter season.
The meeting was attended by the Divisional Commissioner Dr. Asgar Samoon, Director Social Welfare, Director Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Chief Engineer R&B, Director Rural Development Additional Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar other  Senior officers.
The Minister was informed in the meeting that despite severe cold 95% electricity has been restored in the valley while in the farflung areas the restoration of electricity is in progress.
On this occasion Ms Itoo directed power officials to replace the damaged transformers with new ones. She also issued directions to CAPD officers for taking immediate steps for ensuring ration and other essential commodities in the farflung areas of the valley.
The Minister also stressed upon Health Officials to provide better medicare to under treatment children, old and other patients in the hospitals. She also asked officers of Education Department to keep available library books in the Educational Institutions for children. Referring to NREGA scheme, the Minister directed the Rural Department to ensure transparency in developmental activities undertaken under the Scheme.
