There is no option other than dialogue
This refers to the news “Pakistan seeks full resumption of composite dialogue.” There is too much of talk going on about the composite dialogue which India stalled after the 2008 Mumbai attacks. The relations between India and Pakistan received a major setback when the attacks took place. And in the process, the resolution of Kashmir issue became a casualty. When the former president of Pakistan, Pervez Musharraf ruled the country, the resolution of Kashmir issue seemed very near. But after that, no attempts have been made on ground to get back on track and talk about the issues like Siachen, Kashmir or others. Unless both countries agree to talk and talk sincerely, nothing is going to change on ground. Kashmiris don’t want any more talks now. They want action on ground. In the 2010 crisis in Kashmir, over 110 people were killed. Let’s this year be the year of peace for Kashmir. And that is possible only when people feel that efforts are being made to resolve Kashmir. It is a complicated issue which will take time to get resolved, but that doesn’t mean the issue is left half way and not resolved.
