Div Com finalizes R-Day arrangements
Srinagar, Jan 22: The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Dr Asgar Samoon, on Saturday chaired a high level meeting of the officers at Bakshi Stadium here to finalize the arrangements for forthcoming R-Day, an official spokesman said.
The meeting, according to the spokesman, discussed threadbare all arrangements including uninterrupted power supply, water supply, Fire brigade and cultural programmes to be presented by various schools and cultural unit of the Information department and Cultural Academy.
After the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner along with Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Meraj Ahmed Kakroo, inspected the work of snow clearance from the stadium by R&B and SMC jointly and issued necessary instructions to the concerned officers to make the stadium ready within one day for march past and other activities.
Later, Divisional Commissioner visited Jammu and Kashmir Cultural Academy to witness the cultural programme to be presented by the children. He appreciated children for presenting the programme. He also witnessed centuries old Kashmiri traditional cultural programme (Dambali) presented by Kashmiri artists.
Dr Samoon also visited the cultural unit of Jammu and Kashmir Information Department. The Divisional Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner and other officers on this occasion appreciated the artists and said the Information department is playing a professional role in developing and keeping alive the traditional culture.
