Woman killed in train mishap
Srinagar: A woman was killed after being run over by a train in Qazigund area of South Kashmir’s Islamabad district, police said. They said Shaheena, 45, wife of Nissar Ahmad Parray of Kamad was crossing the railway track near village Furrah Mir Bazar in Qazigund when the Qazigund-Baramulla train hit her. The woman died on the spot, police said adding her body was taken away by relatives for final rites.

Srinagar: Renowned Kashmiri poetess, Begum Taj-u-Nisa Taj who is also the mother of J&K Police Housing Corporation Managing Director, Muhammad Amin Shah passed away at her native village Tral on Tuesday.
The deceased contributed immensely for the promotion and development of Kashmiri literature. She has two poetic compilations “Willa Tsar” and “Khooni Jigar” to her credit while her several books are presently under compilation. According to the family, the Rasm-e-Chaharum of the deceased would be observed on Friday at Tral. Meanwhile, employees of the Academy of Art Culture and Language have expressed grief over the demise. In a condolence meeting, the employees expressed solidarity with the bereaved and prayed for the departed soul.
