Action taken against 27 absent employees
Srinagar, Jan 28: On the instructions of Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir a team of officers headed by Additional Commissioner, Abdul Majid Wani conducted surprise inspection of 16 offices in Pampore, Awantipora and Tral, an official spokesman said.As many as 27 employees were found un-authorizedly absent from the duty and action under rules was initiated against absentees, he said, adding the team while checking the Block Development Officer Pampore and found only two class-IV employees present in the office.

Army organizes seminar on HR
Srinagar, Jan 28: To educate soldiers on Human Rights, Army organized a seminar at Victor Force headquater Awantipora on Friday.
According to a defence communiqué the seminar commenced with welcome address by General Officer Commanding Victor Force, Maj Gen Gurdeep Singh. The seminar hosted guest speakers of national repute. “All issues which have potential of disturbing peaceful environment were discussed. In addition commander 2 Sector talked about conduct of people friendly operations,” the statement added.
‘Submit adhoc, contractual cases upto Jan 31’
Jammu, Jan 28: The Finance Department has asked all the departments to send cases of adhoc, contractual and consolidated appointees to it upto January 31st, 2011 after which it said the Empowered Committee shall not entertain any case whatsoever.
TAC to meet on Feb10
Jammu, Jan 28: Transport Advisory Committee (TAC) would meet on February 10, for the first time to suggest measures to streamlining transport services across the state. The Committee under the Chairmanship of Minister for Transport Mr. Qamar Ali Akhoon will work out comprehensive policy inputs to effectively co-coordinate between transport agencies and concerned departments so that commuters of the State are facilitated in a big way.
PL condemns police action against Waza
Srinagar: Jammu Kashmir Peoples’ League on Friday strongly condemned, what it called, the inhuman treatment meted out to its ailing acting chairman, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza. “Waza, who is suffering from different ailments, was arrested by the police from his residence on the eve of January 26, and subjected to tremendous humiliation and inhuman treatment. After his release, he was admitted to the hospital,” said a spokesman of the PL in a statement on Friday.
