UN has role in resolving issues: Shah
Srinagar, Jan 4: Senior pro-freedom leader and Democratic Freedom Party chairman, Shabir Ahmad Shah on Tuesday said the United Nations had a role in resolving all international issues.
“UN evinced interest in East Timor and liberated it in 1999. It passed an important historical Resolution in January 5, 1949, providing for right of self-determination of people of Jammu Kashmir to decide their future. It should take effective and meaningful steps to implement its Resolutions to resolve Kashmir issue,” said Shah in a statement.
Shah claimed that he would continue to put in his efforts for the unity among all the pro-freedom political organizations. He said unity among all the pro-freedom parties was a must for continuing struggle effectively and taking it to logical end.
Shah said Party was never averse to holding talks and it would participate in talks provided they are meaningful, result-oriented and trilateral.
