Govt mulls to upgrade Nichhama lignite project

Jammu, Jan 5: Advisor to Chief Minister, Mubarak Gull has said that the government is contemplating to upgrade lignite project at Nichhama in Kupwara district to expand its scope for employment generation, an official statement said. He said that in this regard codal formalities are being completed and funds for the purpose would be approved soon. The Advisor was interacting with the members of a deputation of Kupwara, who called him ,here today. The deputation led by Nasrullah Khan, District President, Indian National Congress and its Secretary Ghulam Qadir Khan, demanded construction of huts in Bungus Valley on the pattern of Gulmarg and Pahalgam.  The Advisor said that once the Bungus Valley was brought on tourist map adequate tourism infrastructure shall be created in the area in a phased manner to attract tourists.
