Man killed, 2 hurt in road mishaps
Srinagar: A man was killed and two others wounded in separate accidents in the Valley. Four vehicles including a car (JK03A-6150), SRTC bus (JK01Y-0456), scorpio vehicle (JK01-2533) and a truck (JK14A-470) collided with each other at Numbal Awantipora injuring the car driver Ali Muhammad Khan son of Muhammad Yousuf of Qoimoh Kulgam, police said adding the wounded was shifted to a hospital wherein he succumbed. Two persons Saleema widow of Ghulam Muhammad Malla of Qoimoh and Nuzhat wife of Mahboob Katwal of Khudwani were also wounded in the incident, police added.

Srinagar: Dukhtaran-e-Milat acting chairperson, Rifat Fatima, has said the January 5, was an important day for Kashmiris’ freedom struggle. “It is the day when the UN in 1949 passed a resolution for the plebiscite of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, but till today no measures were taken to implement it and since then thousands of freedom lovers were martyred and jailed. So we appeal to the UN, OIC and other Muslim Countries to pressurise India to provide people of Jammu and Kashmir their birth right---plebiscite,” Rifat said in a statement
