SLI slab raised to Rs 2 lakh

Srinagar: Government has enhanced the SLI slab from Rs 36000 to Rs 2 lakh for the state employees.“Employees who stand already insured under SLI schemes can go for another policy of Rs 1.5 lakh, while the fresh aspirants can go for the policy of Rs 2 lakh,” said a spokesman of the Funds Employees’ Association in a statement today, adding that “it will automatically increase their bonus streams double than the sum assured.”
 Meanwhile, the association president Qaisar Mujeeb Andrabi has appealed to the state employees to insure themselves under these schemes.  He has requested the director funds and the director general of accounts and treasuries, finance department, to issue circular to all the treasury officers not to entertain the pay bills containing non-insurant employees.
