AIRPORT ROAD: AN ACCURSED LA DOLCE VITA!

RECKLESS DRIVING ALLEGEDLY BY JASIM HUSSIAN KAWOOSA CLAIMED LIFE

WELCOME to the adnauseum world of nouvea riches, eve teasers and budding adolescent criminals, all notoriously famous for roaming around on the Airport Road! On this very road there are no limits, no rules, no morals, no questions to be asked… And perhaps no answers to be given.
This road is a grotesque reminiscence of so many tragic accidents, all perhaps committed by frenzied adolescents driving rashly at mind blowing speeds, killing any unfortunate person who comes their way.
The most recent to add was one more accident, which unfolded multitudes of grief, agony and pain for the people who knew him: Atif Muddabir a final year Engineering student of NIT Srinagar, an angelic apparition for his family.
The accused, on the other hand, was none other than a 12th standard student driving insanely above 100Km Speed per hour to jump over the road divider and crush Atif’s car.
For the people who knew him there are haunting questions to be asked. Will Atif’s death be just one more tragic accident, just one more debate, just one more rhetoricity, just one more write-up? How many more deaths, how many more horrors are required to awaken our conscious? Who is answerable for Aatif’s death? Our morality? Or, the 12th class student?
The next in line is our traffic department, which needs to introspect its failures in curbing the menace. Besides, silhouetted against this bloody Airport Road is a building, which many call the Sadder Police Station. The Thana cops outrageously allow these adolescent hooligans to their own whims!
And thus it is the same old story… The same pathetic negligence, the same accursed “la dolce vita”.  And amid this forbearing nonsense, I mourn this pitiful world engulfing me with its morphed despair, its abyss of pessimism, its epoch of oppression, its nightmarish incredulity of violence…I mourn for the people of this land who are yet to realize their evanescent morality.
I mourn for the exuberant life extinguished from its splendour by the pitiful pamperdness of somebody’s son…I mourn for him- the person whose eloquent love made my life.
