Make Ansari Commission report public: SAD urges govt

Jammu, Jan 8: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has reiterated its demand for making public the Ansari Commission Report, regarding killing of around a dozen Sikhs during the riots in January 1989 in Jammu.
 Addressing a press conference, national vice-president of SAD, Jaspal Singh Mangal said that for last two decades victims have been denied justice and those involved were rooming freely.
 The government, he said, should make the enquiry committee report public so that the culprits are identified and booked under law.
 He also sought justice for the kith and kin of those killed in Chattisingpora massacre on March 20, 2000 when United States President Bill Clinton was on a visit to India.
 “People want to know the truth behind the innocent killings”, he said adding that those having vested interest behind the incident should be exposed before the public. “Let government book the real culprits, who so ever they are”.
 “We seek a special package for those living in Valley”, he said adding “Even those who have migrated from the Valley be given package at par with Kashmiri Pandits”.
